Today, we witnessed a new Israeli war against the Palestinian people

Following the Hamas attack on the 7th October,  which deeply embarrassed the military apparatus of Israel and exposed the vulnerabilities of its intelligence capabilities, Israel has launched a bloody war against Gaza.

The Israeli attack has come as an “opportunity from heaven” to start a brutal extermination campaign on the Palestinian people.

Despite the casualties among Israeli civilians, who have no connection to the policies of the State of Israel, the Palestinians in Gaza are being collectively and severely punished for Hamas’s actions.

Over one million individuals are held captive beneath the goal of “ending Hamas”; they are regarded as military targets by the Israeli military apparatus. Gazan cities transformed to rubble yet the bombardment continues. At this moment, more than three thousand Palestinian were killed, and more than seven thousand displaced, many of whom are women, children, pregnant, youth and elderly.

The fate of the helpless patients is known. Moreover, the attack on the Al-Ahli hospital left much more casualties and the dead have no other way but to be buried in mass collective graves. Alongside the incursion, the siege on Gaza has intensified, leaving its people with no water, no electricity, no food, no medicine, and no humanitarian aid. Official crossing points were sealed to prevent medicines and humanitarian aid from reaching those in need.

According to which law or logic, can millions people be made to pay a price of collective punishment for a decision they did not make, were not consulted on?

Regardless of who started the attack this time, Israel is directly responsible for the acts that took place on 7th October as they have fed and watered violence in this area through the occupation and humiliation of the people of Gaza, in addition to the other occupied regions. It goes back to the stubbornness and refusal of Israel to maintain the commitments of the many international resolutions aimed at resolving this incursion peacefully.

To end the barbarism and brutality against the Palestinian people, we join the local, regional and international movements calling for an end to the war and stopping the bombarding of civilian people. We call for international intervention to pressure Israel to open ports of entry in order for humanitarian aid to reach those in dire need of support. We join all the efforts that call for the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination in establishing their own free and independent state and destinies. We call for the end of the Apartheid policy implemented by the Israeli state against the Palestinian people.
